The Parks & Recreation Pre-Season Football Camp will begin on Monday, July 23 and run through Thursday, July 26. The camp, which is organized by Laconia High School Assistant Coach Rod Roy and Memorial Middle School Head Coach Jeff Keith, is available to all Lakes Region football players enrolled in area youth or middle school football programs for the upcoming season.
Onsite registration is available in the Laconia High School parking lot on the Monday, July 23, beginning at 4:30 p.m.. The fee for the four-session camp is $50 per player, and must be paid in full prior to participating.
This is a mild contact camp, and all players are expected to arrive dressed in full pads, including cups and mouthpieces. Players should see their own coaches about borrowing team equipment prior to arriving at the camp so they arrive fully prepared to play on Monday evening.
The camp will run from 5:30-7:30 p.m. each night (Monday through Thursday) on Bobotas Field, which is located up the hill behind Laconia High School. Friday, July 27 will serve as a make up day in case inclement weather causes cancellation of any of the sessions. All players should be sure to bring ample drinks each night as proper hydration is of utmost importance.
The Laconia Parks & Recreation Football Camp is in its second year of existence. Over 80 Lakes Region football players participated in the camp’s inaugural season, making it a huge success. The camp focuses on offensive and defensive fundamentals, skill development drills, and having fun playing football in a safe environment.
Anyone having questions can contact Coach Rod Roy at 524.8402, or the Laconia Parks & Recreation Department at 524.5046.
