One Light Theatre presents The 39 Steps' this weekend

TILTON — One Light Theatre’s summer season continues with the wild comedy "The 39 Steps," a stage adaptation of Patrick Barlow’s novel and Alfred Hitchcock’s classic thriller of the same name. Richard Hannay is whisked into the world of international espionage after helping an undercover spy escape a dangerous situation. Over the course of the play, he stumbles through three romances and meets over a hundred other side characters. Despite the abundance of characters at play, "The 39 Steps" is portrayed by a cast of only four.

Directed by Kirstin Riegler, One Light’s production will feature four of their professional resident artists: Owen Thomas, Heather Hunt, Jack Harding and Matthew McGinnis.

Riegler is a Washington, D.C., area native who recently moved to Keene, where she is an assistant professor of theater and dance with an acting/musical theater focus at Keene State College. There, she directs one main stage production a year, most recently "A...My Name Is Alice" and "Little Women The Musical," and teaches classes in acting and audition technique.

One Light is a nonprofit theater company with a particular passion for bringing new shows to the Lakes Region. Their mission is to not only entertain the community, but to enrich their audience by challenging norms and provoking discussion.

"The 39 Steps" ends its run this weekend from July 15-16 at Tilton School’s Hamilton Hall. The fast-paced, humorous script coupled with this immensely talented cast is guaranteed to keep the audience on the edge of their seats! Come witness what New Hampshire’s young artists are accomplishing, and be taken along with Richard Hannay for the ride of a lifetime!
