The Lakes Region Planning Commission’s web site, www.lakesrpc.org, has a new look and feel with lots of exciting and useful features. A couple of the more interesting additions include a tab to the region’s communities, which includes a clickable map of the communities in the Lakes Region. Each community has its own page where you can find basic demographic data and links to the community’s website, land use ordinances (if available), traffic counts, and LRPC produced maps.

LRPC is also developing a series of standard maps for each community that is available for viewing and download including community facilities, zoning, aerial photography, topography, and natural resources/conservation lands. A user can also request a map by completing a form and submitting it on the "Maps by Request" page.

These are just two examples of the many enhancements that have been made to the web site, with an overall goal of providing more regional awareness, and streamlined access to useful planning information about the communities that share this special place called the Lakes Region.

"Please visit us online and let us know what you think," said Executive Director Kimon Koulet. The new site was made possible with the assistance of DK Net Design, a local web consulting company located in Gilford.
