The LRGH Nursery Guild recently pledged $1,000 in support of the Nursing Education Fund in honor of the Pediatric and Obstetric nurses at Lakes Region General Hospital.

The Nursing Education Fund supports LRGHealthcare’s TuitionLink program and is the focus of LRGHealthcare’s Annual Fundraising Appeal. The Fund is providing a source of qualified nurses to fill needed positions in our local healthcare system and it is creating new opportunity for community members who wish to enter clinical fields. The LRGH Nursery Guild’s gift will specifically help future Pediatric and OB/GYN nurses achieve their career goals.

The LRGH Nursery Guild has two purposes: To provide financial resources for the LRGHealthcare Women’s and Children’s Health Services and other local agencies, and to promote maternal and child health to the community. The Nursery Guild’s bi-annual Baby/Child Boutique, held at the Laconia Community Center each April and October, is their primary fundraising event. The profit earned from these boutique’s filters back to the community through numerous women’s and children’s health initiatives — and gifts like this one to the Nursing Education Fund.

If you would like to learn more about the LRGH Nursery Guild, or are interested in becoming a member please contact Volunteer Services at LRGH, at 524-3211 Ext.2895. The next monthly meeting of the LRGH Nursery Guild will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2005 at 6:30 p.m. at the LRGH, cafeteria. New members are always welcome.
