ALEXANDRIA — The Lakes Region Conservation Trust, in partnership with the Newfound Lake Region Association, will be offering a special guided hike at the newly acquired Sugarloaf Ridge – Goose Pond Conservation Area in Alexandria, on Thursday, Sept. 3.
Participants will need to arrive by 8:45 a.m. to have time to check in and prepare for the hike. The excursion is expected to finish around 1 p.m. The number of participants will be limited, and registration is required. Those who register will be sent additional detailed information.
This property includes 400 magnificent acres overlooking Newfound Lake and encompasses the landmark ridgeline of Big and Little Sugarloaf and much of the shoreline of pristine Goose Pond. This land includes unspoiled rugged and diverse habitat and scenic beauty.
Participants will have the opportunity to hike along the well-known Elwell Trail to Little Sugarloaf and will continue on to Big Sugarloaf with extraordinary views of Newfound Lake and will finish following along the shores of Goose Pond.
