ASHLAND — It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loving husband, father, and Papa, Patrick Abear, 61, of Ashland, on April 9, 2026.
Patrick was born on Sept. 20, 1964, in Plymouth, to Carleton Abear and Patricia (née Savage) Abear.
Patrick was known for his sense of humor and quick wit. He was a busy man with many talents and had a remarkable ability to “fix anything.”
He graduated from Ashland High School in 1983, and went on to proudly serve in the United States Navy from Jan. 4, 1984, to Nov. 14, 1986, aboard the USS Sterett (CG-31). He was honorably medically discharged. Following his military service, Patrick worked for Pike Industries and, for the past 33 years, was employed by Ossipee Mountain Electronics in Moultonborough.
Patrick is survived by his best friend and soulmate, Anne (née King), whom he married on July 18, 1992, and their three sons, Jeff King (Monica), Jon Abear (Samantha), and Matt Abear (Moselle). He was a proud Papa to his cherished grandchildren, Riley, Liam, Lexi and Henry Abear. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Babe. He is also survived by his sister, Susan (David) Paquette; his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Phil (Lois) King and Elaine (Karl) Hanley; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Patrick was predeceased by his parents, Carleton and Patricia Abear, and his brother, David.
Family and friends are invited to join us for visiting hours from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, at the Dupuis Funeral Home, 11 Hill Ave. A celebration of life will be held following visiting hours at the American Legion Dupuis Cross Post 15, from 5 to 7 p.m.
A burial and service will be held at a later date, in Thornton, at Pine Grove Cemetery.
