The Twin Rivers Interfaith Food Pantry was awarded a $5,000 grant from Franklin Savings Bank Fund for Community Advancement. The grant funds will enable the Food Pantry to distribute food baskets to families in need as they continue serve an ever-increasing number of families. Jeff Savage, Franklin Savings Bank president and CEO, is shown the stocked shelves by Lynn Bastis, Twin Rivers Interfaith Food Pantry Board Member. Located at the former Saint Jude’s Episcopal Church on Central Street in Franklin, the pantry serves over 1,400 meals per month to approximately 700 individuals in low income families from Andover, Danbury, Franklin, Hill, Northfield, Salisbury, Sanbornton and Tilton. Last year alone, 120 new families came to the Twin Rivers Food Pantry. The increase in demand has the food pantry in need of donations. To make a donation, stop by or mail to PO Box 184, Franklin, NH 03235. To volunteer, call Esther Cain at 286-8110.
