HOLDERNESS — Inspired by the TV show, Project Runway, The Little Church Theater in Holderness will host its 6th Annual Project Greenway on Thursday, July 23 at 7 p.m. Registration deadline is Tuesday, July 21 at 5 p.m.
"Project Greenway" contestants will be required to use different types of recycled and repurposed materials and to work around this year's theme "Businesses That Inspire". Designers will choose a local or national business, organization or charity whose spirit they admire and represent them in their design. Judges will also be looking at the creative construction of the design, the use of texture and color and types of accessories.
Anyone can enter, individually or as a team, and a total $2,000 in cash prizes will be awarded in two age categories of 11-16 and 17 and over. The contest registration fee is $25. Designers can register by calling the box office at (60) 968-2250 or sending an email to info@littlechurchtheater.com. As this runway show is very popular, it is recommended that tickets be purchased in advance; tickets for the first four rows are $25, general admission is $10 per person.
Organizer Austine Howard has announced that television personality and award-winning author Rebecca Cole is expected back as this year's celebrity judge. Rebecca hosted all 200 shows for Discovery Channel's Surprise by Design and has appeared nearly as often on the Today Show.
"Each year the designers have surprised us with their creativity! We are always mesmerized by the talent and creative use of materials," said Austine. "I can't wait to see this year's collection of inspirational designs."
