GILFORD — The First United Methodist Church of Gilford and Wesley Woods are offering a bus trip to the beautiful and rugged coast of Maine on Sept. 19 – 20. The journey starts by heading to Bath, Maine, and touring the Maine Maritime Museum. Enjoy a cruise and view the lighthouses and ocean wildlife, and then head north to visit Camden, the jewel of midcoast Maine. Also, see Mt. Battie, a 1,200-foot precipice within Camden Hills State Park. There will be some time for shopping before heading to the Fireside Hotel in Belfast, where all rooms have a view of Penobscot Bay and enjoy a true coastal dining experience.

On the second day, stops will include Fort Knox, the Penobscot Narrows Observatory, and lunch at the Taste of Maine in Woolwich. Finally, depart to the shopping mecca of Freeport and LL Bean before heading home.

Cost of this trip is $299 per person double occupancy, or $349 single occupancy. Reservations are required by Friday, Aug. 18, can be made by stopping by the church office any morning Monday through Friday before noon. Call Joyce at 524-3289 for further information.
