BELMONT — The Belmont Library's hours are shifting slightly to accommodate more people. Starting Aug. 1, on Mondays and Thursdays the library will be open from noon to 6 p.m., and Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., while Fridays remain 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Summer reading participants can return their logs and claim their prizes through Aug. 20. The library continues family story time on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. Family movies will be offered in the children's room on Tuesdays in August at 2 p.m. Adult Craft n' Laugh has moved to a new day and time – Mondays at 4:30 p.m., but as always, the library has supplies and guidance for the various activities. This month that includes watercolor, handmade cards and jewelry-making. Tech Time is set aside on Thursdays from 2 to 4 p.m. to allow for one-on-one technology help. Assistance is also available by appointment.
The library book group is reading "The Bat" by Jo Nesbo. This Norwegian crime thriller is set in Australia as series detective Harry Hole investigates the murder of a minor celebrity. Discussion is on Friday Aug. 19, at 10:30 a.m.
