MOULTONBOROUGH — Moultonborough Public Library, in collaboration with the UNH Cooperative Extension, will host a program on digital property mapping. Attendees will join county foresters Wendy Scribner and Lindsay Watkins for a hands-on workshop to learn the basics of these applications.
There are several online mapping tools free to New Hampshire landowners, such as GRANITView, Google Earth and ArcGIS Online. The Women in the Woods program reviews the skills needed to find the information people are looking for. Attendees will learn how to interpret aerial views, find property boundaries with tax map data, and explore how land has changed over time through historic imagery.
The program will walk participants through the steps and provide time for them to ask questions and explore their own property. Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop or tablet to get the most out of the workshop; there will also be a few devices to share.
While Women in the Woods programming is open to all participants, it is designed for marginalized genders, such as women and gender non-conforming individuals comfortable in a space that centers the learning experience of women. Registration is free and limited to 12 people.
Women in the Woods is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25. To register, visit moultonboroughlibrary.org. This event is sponsored by UNH Cooperative Extension and the Moultonborough Public Library.
