WOLFEBORO — The Lakes Center for the Arts Meet the Artist Series continues with the wood working craft of John White on exhibit June 1-30 at the Wolfeboro Public Library. A reception to meet the artist will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 6-7 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public.

"I have been creating furniture since 1977 and in the summer of 1997 I was introduced to the wonderful, creative, art form of woodturning by my uncle, a well-known turner from the Hill County of West Texas. That was the first time in my life that I ever thought of what I did as art. I consider myself as self-taught. However, I have had several mentors through the years who have encouraged, guided, and by hands-on, helped me see new ways of thinking and creating. I am always experimenting," said White.
