South Down Shores Home & Garden Club wraps up 2025 with donation, movie night

The South Down Shores Home & Garden Club wrapped up the year selecting St. Vincent de Paul as the recipient of its annual charitable contribution. The funds were earmarked for the Children’s Foundation which provides assistance with the day-to-day needs of children in the local school systems by working closely with the school nurses, guidance counselors, and child care centers.  A check for $1,000 was presented to St Vincent de Paul in Laconia by club Treasurer Marie Starski and Secretary Paula Judge. Club members celebrated the holiday season with an early December dinner at Harts Turkey Farm followed by a private showing of the movie “Wicked: For Good” at Barn Z’s in Meredith.  Attendees brought food donations resulting in a donation of three cases of canned goods to Restoration Acres Farm in Meredith.
