snowshoeing

The Meredith Conservation Commission will host a snowshoe tour of Page Pond Town Forest on Saturday, Feb. 21. The planned route for the trip is the three-mile multi-purpose trail starting from the Barnard Ridge Road Trailhead. The destination is Page Pond and the historic Mill Dam. Along the way, they will look for signs of wildlife including otter, deer, beaver, pileated woodpecker, turkey, snowshoe hare, and fox. The trip is expected to take about three hours; a one-mile route is also an option for those who prefer a shorter trip. The event will be led by Scott Powell and other members of the Conservation Commission.
