LACONIA — Powerhouse Theatre Collaborative is back at Prescott Farm to bring a roving, interactive, story-telling experience to audience members of all ages. After the success of "Alice's Adventure in Wonderland" and last year’s "Journey Through Neverland," Powerhouse member and playwright, Tess Hodges, brings a fresh new take on the Big Bad Wolf in "Big Bad: The Trials and Tribulations of a Fairytale Wolf." In this adventure, the wolf and Little Red Riding Hood will take audience members around the beautiful grounds of Prescott Farm as they attempt to find their way to Granny’s house. Along the way they will need to evade the huntsman and get some help from some very eccentric fairytale pigs. "Big Bad" is sponsored by the Stonewood School.

A different Wolf-Little Red team will depart approximately every 20 minutes from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12, and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 13. There are five Wolf-Red combinations and two different casts of all the characters they meet along their journey, so if audiences are looking to see a particular actor they should make sure they sign up for a time slot the actors will be performing. Time slots are limited to 18 people each, so be sure to secure a space before they fill up.

This adventure is part of Powerhouse’s 2026 Spark Series which provides entertainment opportunities around Laconia separate from its Colonial Series. The Spark Series is sponsored by The Laconia Daily Sun and Taylor Community. Powerhouse’s 2026 season is sponsored by Lavalley Middleton Building Supply, MVSB and Grappone Automotive Group.

“It has been such a wonderful experience bringing these iconic fairytales to life over the past couple of years. They just continue to get better and better," said Director Courtney Palmer. "This is such a unique way of storytelling, and our actors are amazing at performing all of these outrageous characters. I can’t wait for audiences to see this twist on the 'Big Bad Wolf' story."

This show is fun for people of all ages, but be advised that there will be walking and standing around the grounds of Prescott Farm for approximately 40-45 minutes, so this may be a challenge for those with certain mobility issues.
