MEREDITH — Trinity Episcopal Church will present the renown organist Friedmann Stihler in concert on Thursday, Oct. 6, at 6 p.m. in the church on Rte. 25 (#93, above Rite Aide). The concert is free and open to the public.
Mr. Stihler delights in blending the secular and sacred in his organ performances. His unique arrangements of Schubert’s “Ave Maria” combined with Satchmo’s “What a Wonderful World,” and his rendition of Procol Harum’s “A Whiter Shade of Pale” are representative examples of his musical creativity and lively spirit.
Mr. Stihler serves as organist and musical director at Saint Joseph’s Episcopal Church in McDonough, Georgia. He is a member of the American Guild of Organists and also of the American Choir Directors. He maintains a private piano and organ studio at his home in Mount Zion, Georgia.
