NH Snowmobile Association celebrates 50 years of fundraising

SHELBURNE — Hundreds of Granite State snowmobilers gathered over the weekend in Shelburne, at the Town & Country Motor Inn, to celebrate the 50th annual Ride-In to benefit Easterseals Camp Sno-Mo located in Gilmanton Iron Works.

Through statewide fundraising efforts throughout the year, such as spaghetti suppers and bake sales, local snowmobile clubs raised $161,384 bringing the 50-year grand total to more than $3.6 million dollars. This money will be used to create life-changing experiences for campers, ages 11-21, with disabilities and special needs. Easterseals campers inclusively participate alongside Boy Scouts in a wide variety of activities including water sports, team sports, hiking, archery, a ropes course and crafts.

“I'm amazed at the number of snowmobile volunteers that make the Ride-In possible. The clubs fundraise all year to make summer camp obtainable for the campers. On behalf of the New Hampshire Snowmobile Association, we thank the clubs for their ongoing support during the celebration of our 50th anniversary,” said NHSA President Chris Runnals.

Largest Club Participation: Scrub Oak Scamblers, Madison

Youngest Trail Rider: Ashley Dentremont

Oldest Participant: Charlie Kurtz, of the Umbagog Snowmobile Association, Errol
