MEREDITH — The Meredith Altrusa Club's Hospitality and Literacy Committees hosted a luncheon to celebrate literacy at the Meredith Public Library's Function Room on April 16.
The club welcomed Altrusa District One Director Penny Eldridge, Author Shannon A. Mullen, Library Director Erin Apostolos, club members and their guests. A delicious lunch of Moulton Farm quiches and spinach salad was served, followed by lemon bars for dessert. Mullen discussed her book, “In Other Words, Leadership,” reading passages that were especially relevant to Altrusa's mission of service to its community. She also presented the Meredith Library with a copy of her book. Innisfree Bookshop set up a book sales table which was appreciated by members and guests. Following the program, Mullen was delighted to do a book signing.
