It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Marie L. Kulacz, beloved mother and cherished friend, who peacefully left this world on Feb. 16, 2026, at the age of 97.
Marie was born on Jan. 14, 1929, in Franklin, where she first learned the values of kindness, community, and hard work that would define her life.
A dedicated member of the Franklin community and St. Paul's Church, Marie served as the lunchroom director at St. Mary School, where she touched the lives of countless children through her warm-hearted nature and commitment to nourishing young minds and bodies. Her family will remember her for her wonderful seamstress skills.
She was a volunteer at Franklin Regional Hospital, sang in the church choir and was involved with the Catholic Daughters of America.
Marie is survived by her three beloved daughters, Janice Koblenzer, Kathryn MacKissock and her husband Tom, and Marianne Kulacz, who carry on her legacy of love, compassion and resilience. She will be remembered fondly by her five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
In celebration of Marie's life and her unwavering faith, a Mass will be held at St. Gabriel Parish in Franklin, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 25. Family, friends, and all who were touched by Marie's kindness are welcomed to join in honoring her memory. She will be buried in the spring in Holy Cross Cemetery with her husband.
As we say farewell to a remarkable woman, we take solace in the love she shared and the lives she enriched. Marie's spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Kulacz; her son, Gary Kulacz; her parents, Sidney Martin and Regina (Sylvester) Martin; and her siblings, two sisters and three brothers.
