WOLFEBORO — Makers Mill is welcoming back renowned silversmith and League of NH Craftsmen juried member Joy Raskin for two jewelry-making workshops in March.Â
Raskin has been a silversmith since 1984 and joined the League of NH Craftsmen in high school. She earned a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and an MFA from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Her work is featured in collections such as the White House, the Smithsonian, the Currier Museum of Art, and the Racine Art Museum.
She will be leading two workshops:
- Hinged Bracelet Workshop on Saturday, March 22 (from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.): Participants will craft a hinged bracelet with a clasp, learning riveting, a figure-eight safety catch, and other key techniques. Perfect for those with basic jewelry-making and soldering experience.
- Make Your Own Findings & Chains on Saturday, March 29 (from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.): Learn to craft custom jewelry findings like ear wires, clasps, and pin backs, and create unique wire chains without a torch. You'll also explore cold connections like riveting and essential low-tech jewelry techniques.
Makers Mill will also host two additional League of NH Craftsmen jewelers, Paulette Werner and Betsy Keeney, who will be leading their own specialized workshops in the coming months.Â
