WOLFEBORO ― Residents of central New Hampshire are invited to a learn-to-curl clinic on Sunday, Sept. 13, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Pop Whalen Ice and Arts Center on Route 109A in Wolfeboro.
The event is open to those 16 years of age or older, and pre-registration is required.
In a two-hour session, experienced Lakes Region Curling Association curlers will introduce participants to the basic rules and game play of the increasingly popular Olympic sport.
All needed curling equipment will be supplied. However, participants are required to bring a helmet (for example, bike, ski, or hockey) as well as a pair of clean-soled shoes that they can change into at the arena. Athletic shoes with rugged soles are a good choice.
Area residents planning to register this fall for Lakes Region Curling’s nine-week regular curling season need to have attended either a learn-to-curl session or have prior curling experience.
The LRCA’s Fall 2026 curling season runs from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sundays from Sept. 27 to Nov. 22, including Thanksgiving weekend.
