Laconia Multicultural Festival

LACONIA — a walk in Rotary Park in downtown Laconia will span the globe when the 22nd annual Laconia Multicultural Festival opens On Saturday, Sept. 7, at 10 a.m. with the International Parade of Flags. The Wonderful World of Dogs will be presented, featuring breeds of dogs from all corners of the world. 

In addition to an exhibit of exotic animals from Wildlife Encounters, the Kiwanis Club will be offering Kids Krafts tables where children can make a variety of crafts. There will be a children’s puppet show, an African drumming workshop and a putting green hosted by Bolduc Park Association. There will be vendors selling food and displaying their products.

“This will be a culinary walk around the world” said Becky Guyer, coordinator of the event.

People will have the opportunity to try food from Thailand, the Philippines, Chile, Ukraine, and Somalia There will be products from all over the globe, including South America, Greece, Sweeden, Madagascar, Iraq, as well as the U.S.

“We are so excited to have the Cowasuck Band of Pennacook-Abeanaki people’s travelling museum with us this year,” said co-coordinator Tamera McGonagle.
