PLYMOUTH ― Each year, Lakes Region Mental Health Center presents two prestigious awards to members of the greater Lakes Region community who have championed the cause of mental health and supported LRMHC’s efforts to promote mental health awareness.
The Dr. Pete Harris Award is presented in his memory to an individual who embodies Dr. Harris’ values by promoting increased awareness, sensitivity, understanding, and acceptance of mental health issues through public education. This 2026 recipient of the Pete Harris Award is Laconia Fire Chief Tim Joubert.
Chief Joubert was nominated for his outstanding service to the Lakes Region Mental Health Center community.
“Chief Joubert’s community education initiatives, particular in residential services, are an asset to our program operations," said Senia LaForte, director of LRMHC Residential Services. "Not only does he keep patients and residents engaged, but he also communicates in a way that preserves dignity and respects varied abilities.”
The award will be presented at Lakes Region Mental Health’s Annual Meeting on Oct. 27 at the Plymouth State University Merrill Place Conference Center, from noon to 2 p.m. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend to help celebrate Chief Joubert’s achievement.
