MEREDITH — The Loft at Hermit Woods Winery will present an evening of soul-stirring Brazilian jazz with the Josie Lawrence Collective on Thursday, July 17. Guests are invited to enjoy world-class music, locally inspired cuisine, and award-winning wines in one of New Hampshire’s most intimate performance spaces.
The evening begins with a complimentary wine tasting from 5:30 to 6 p.m., followed by dinner service starting at 6 p.m. The show begins at 7 p.m., with drinks and dessert available throughout the performance.
In the wake of the passing of bossa nova icon Astrud Gilberto, vocalist and composer Josie Lawrence was moved to honor her legacy with a stunning debut album, Komorebi. This tribute blends the rhythmic heartbeat of Brazil with Josie's distinctive voice and original compositions — ranging from lively sambas to haunting bossa ballads.
At The Loft, Josie and her jazz quintet will perform selections from Komorebi, along with timeless jazz standards and bossa nova classics. The ensemble features:
