HOLDERNESS — Squam Lakes Natural Science Center invites adults and families with children ages 12 and up for a winter hike up Mount Fayal to enjoy the amazing winter view of Squam lake from the top. Hikes will be on Tuesday, March 1 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and Saturday, March 12 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Participants will look for and identify animal tracks and signs and brush up on winter tree identification along the way. If needed, snowshoes are available at no extra cost or participants can bring their own. Children must be accompanied by an adult. This program is all outdoors. Dress in layers, wear insulated snow boots, hats, and gloves. Bring water and a snack. Pre-registration is required for all programs at www.nhnature.org.
