GILFORD ― Gilford High School hosted The Rotary Four-Way Test annual speech contest put on by the Gilford Rotary Club.
The winners were Emily Jacques in first place with her topic on “Distractions ― Use of Hobbies for Preventing Burnout and Supporting Better Mental Health,” Sarah Khan in second place with her topic on “The Plague of Generative AI,” and Kylie Kelly in third place with her topic, “The Importance of Adoption.”
Other outstanding contestants were Tristan Schofield and Jiya Patel, who did a commendable job representing their ideas and perspectives.
Khan will be attending the district semi-finals on Sunday, April 12, in Henniker.
Four-Way Speech Contest judges were Clara Jude, Bill Roderick, and Christine Holmes. Jen Nunez was the registrar and greeter, Gail Tebbetts was scorer. Jim Sherman was a timekeeper. Sandy McGonagle was the moderator. Corey Nazer was the high school adviser.
