GILFORD — Gilford Community Church will host its annual Summer Fair on Friday, Aug. 25, 4-7 p.m., and Saturday, Aug. 26, 7:30 a.m.-2 p.m.
Held in conjunction with the town’s Old Home Day on Aug. 26, the fair will feature a silent auction with more than 100 items, white elephant sale and man cave sale.
“We also host the Gilford Rotary Pancake Breakfast,” said Pastor Michael Graham, who said the church is currently accepting donations for the fair. “If you have an item that you think might be good for the silent auction, white elephant sale or man cave sale, please reach out to us.”
According to Kathi Hopper, Summer Fair co-chair with Rick Hopper, one new addition this year is a cornhole tournament, hosted by Gilford Youth Center, on Aug. 25, at 5 p.m. “There will be cash prizes of $500 and $300 in two divisions with trophies awarded, too,” she said.
In addition to the sales, the fair will offer hamburgers, hot dogs, soft drinks, fried dough, jewelry, a bake sale and music played by a DJ. “It’s a lot of fun, and its deeper purpose is to support our local and international philanthropic efforts,” said Graham. “It’s also a chance to experience our community, which is inclusive and open to all.”
Gilford Community Church is at 19 Potter Hill Road.
