MOULTONBOROUGH — Cub Scout Pack 369 is launching a busy “Trailhead September” with two efforts open to the wider community: a Raingutter Regatta open house and a popcorn drive for troops and first responders.
On Thursday, Sept. 10, at Moultonborough United Methodist Church beginning at 6 p.m., scouts will race handmade sailboats down a water-filled trough, powered only by their own breath, followed by a campfire. The free event is open to any family curious about scouting, and children in kindergarten through fifth grade are welcome to try it with no obligation.
Alongside the regatta, the pack is running its Trail’s End popcorn sale through early October. Community members can buy popcorn for their own homes or choose the “Heroes & Helpers” option, which ships popcorn directly to deployed military members, veterans and local first responders. Proceeds fund the pack’s year-round outdoor program.
"We’re scouting the Lakes Region and beyond," said Cubmaster Justin Rider. "We’re a growing pack built around getting kids outside — and around giving back. Whether it’s racing boats or sending popcorn to a firefighter, we want these kids doing real things in their own community."
Pack 369 serves Moultonborough, Sandwich and Tamworth, and is chartered by the Lions Club of Moultonborough. Event details, RSVPs and Scout donation links are at pack369.com.
