BRISTOL — Congresswomen Maggie Goodlander and her team visited the Tapply-Thompson Community Center at the site of their new community center project on 90 Lake St. in Bristol on Thursday, May 28.

Goodlander recommended and approved the TTCC as a 2026 Community Project Funding project recipient under USDA’s Community Facilities Program. The $1 million award will go toward the building of an 18,000-20,000 square foot facility that may include a commercial and community kitchen, additional programming space and a full-sized gymnasium.

A group of roughly 25 community members welcomed Goodlander and her team and discussed ideas and design elements of this much-needed center. Demand at the center has grown so much in recent years that the board and staff recognized the need for two buildings to meet the increase and around-the-clock usage. A discussion and forum followed at the current center at 30 N. Main St where Goodlander pledged her continued support and spoke in depth with community members.

TTCC is welcoming the public to join them for a Community Visioning Charette being held on Tuesday, June 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. at 90 Lake St. in Bristol. This event is being held in partnership with the Lakes Region Planning Commission and Environmental Design and Research and is a public presentation for the building of a new community center. Refreshments will be provided, and input and ideas from the public are cordially invited.

Stay tuned for updates on progress and programs. For more information, call the Community Center at 603-744-2713 or email info@ttccrec.org. Visit their website at /ttccrec.org or Facebook at facebook.com/TTCC1946.
