BELMONT — The Belmont Public Library will hold Deck the Village on Sunday, Nov. 30, 2-4 p.m. This annual celebration transforms the library and village green into a warm, festive space filled with crafts, conversation, and cheer.

Families can create seasonal decorations, enjoy light refreshments, and take part in activities for all ages. A special visitor will stop by to greet children and help us welcome the holiday season in true Belmont style.

The library will also bid farewell to Eileen Gilbert, library director, who has served Belmont for nearly 11 years. Her leadership has strengthened the library’s programming, expanded services, and fostered a welcoming environment for patrons of all ages.

Book groups will meet throughout December, offering readers several opportunities to connect and discuss outstanding titles. The nonfiction book group gathers on Thursday, Dec. 4, at 10:30 am. to discuss “The Wager: A Tale of Shipwreck, Mutiny, and Murder” by David Grann. The afternoon book group meets on Thursday, Dec. 11, at 4:30 p.m. to explore “The Twelve Tribes of Hattie” by Ayana Mathis. The mystery group will meet on Thursday, Dec. 18, at 10 a.m. to talk about “The Twelve Clues of Christmas” by Rhys Bowen. The Friday fiction book group convenes on Friday, Dec. 19, at 10:30 a.m. to discuss “Comfort and Joy” by Kristin Hannah.

The library will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 25 and Thursday, Jan. 1.
