On Thursday, April 4 at 6 p.m., the Sanbornton Public Library invites the public to attend a speech from NASA Solar System Ambassador, Ed Ting. Ting has traveled the world capturing images of celestial phenomena and will discuss his experience photographing the 2023 winter solstice at Stonehenge.
Stonehenge, a British UNESCO World Heritage Site, was built during the Neolithic and Bronze Age. The original purpose of the monument is unknown but its design includes a celestial function as it aligns with the sunset during the winter solstice and the sunrise during the summer solstice.
This program will be held at 27 Meetinghouse Hill Road and is free and open to the public. For more information contact the Sanbornton Public Library at 603-286-8288 or SPLNHcirc@gmail.com
