LACONIA — Join the Laconia Public Library on Wednesday, Aug. 23, from 6 to 7 p.m., for a night of jazz.

The Clandestine Jazz Collective is comprised of jazz musicians from different parts of New Hampshire. The group's leader, Andrew Emanuel, a jazz saxophonist, draws on the influences of Dexter Gordon, John Coltrane, Charlie Parker, Sonny Rollins, Miles Davis and Joe Henderson. Emanuel has shared the stage with several notable musicians including Steve Wilson, Marshall Gilkes, Dave Pietro, Jim White, Chris Potter, and Allen Vizzutti. The group specializes in jazz standards from the latter half of the 20th century. All are welcome to attend this free program; no sign up is required.
