LACONIA — Aniko Geladze and Noelle Beaudin will put on A Celtic Christmas who featuring fiddle and piano music from Cape Breton, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Galicia, Scotland, Ireland, and Wales on Sunday, Dec. 22, at 4 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Society of Laconia.
Light refreshments will be available. As a separate fundraiser, there will also be a Cookie Walk where attendees can fill a box with cookies by choosing from an assortment of homemade cookies.
Geladze is a concertmaster and soloist from Russia. She has collaborated with major orchestras and musicians from many parts of the world, including Russia, Europe, and Asia. Geladze studied at Royal College of Music in London and participated in yearly concert tours in Spain, France, Belgium, Germany, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. Geladze has led quartets, and participated in the Chamber Orchestra “Camara Rusa,” and served under the direction of Mstislav Rostropovich, Vladimir Verbitsky, Mak KaLok, and Alexander Walker. Currently, she’s a member of the Nashua Chamber Orchestra and The Portsmouth Symphony. She performs with the University of New Hampshire Music Department, Portsmouth Pro Musica, and The New Hampshire Philharmonic.
Noelle Beaudin plays the piano and hurdy-gurdy and performs regularly with Geladze where they provide an eclectic mix of traditional, Celtic, Quebecois, and modern fiddle and piano music. Beaudin studied piano performance and composition at the Boston Conservatory of Music and performed frequently in the Boston area before moving to France and the UK. She now has a busy studio and music summer camp in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire and enjoys performing throughout New England as a soloist or accompanist. She is also a premier hurdy-gurdy performer, teacher, and the co-founder of GurdyWorld.com
