Willis Sloat

LACONIA — Attorney Willis Sloat has joined the Wescott Law firm. Sloat previously spent five years representing clients in estate planning, elder law, and civil litigation in Concord and Manchester. He also spent eight years in Chicago where his practice focused on civil litigation in trial and appellate courts. Sloat’s litigation experience ranges from high level business litigation to small claims matters.

Born and raised in the Lancaster, Sloat graduated from Occidental College in Los Angeles and received his MBA from DePaul University and his Juris Doctorate from Loyola University of Chicago.

After living out of state for two decades, Sloat and his family returned to New Hampshire in 2013. “My wife and I decided to move back to give our children the experience I had growing up: life in a rural community, and outdoor pursuits like downhill and cross-country skiing,” Sloat said. Since his return, Sloat has been very involved in the community, volunteering his time coaching youth soccer, serving on the Town of Bow’s Planning Board and Public Safety Building Committee, as well as the organizing committee for the local Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

“We are excited and privileged for Willis to join the firm”, Wescott Law Managing Partner Allison Ambrose said. “He has built an exemplary resume and we are eager for him join in Wescott Law’s tradition of providing sound legal counsel and practical solutions to businesses and individuals in the lakes region.”

Sloat, who is admitted to practice in the Courts of New Hampshire and Illinois, currently focuses on estate planning, elder law, probate, and civil litigation. He also assists clients with commercial and residential real estate matters, land use, planning and zoning, and business formation and commercial transactions. While primarily seeing clients from the Laconia office, appointments may also be made to meet in the Meredith office by emailing him directly at wsloat@wescottlawnh.com or calling the main office at 603-524-2166.
