ALTON -- Local self-storage provider MI-Box of Central New Hampshire has been recognized by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve program (ESGR), a national program operated by the U.S. Department of Defense designed to promote the hiring of volunteers who serve in the National Guard and Reserve.
MI-Box joined with ESGR last week in a Statement of Support, signed by ESGR National Chair Craig R. McKinley and U.S. Secretary of Defense James N. Mattis, to pledge support to the organization and provide the necessary tools for company supervisors to manage employees who serve in the Guard or Reserve.
“As a new business operating in central New Hampshire, we have plans to grow and will be looking to add quality personnel to our team,” said Wes Kogelman, owner and general manager of MI-BOX of Central New Hampshire. “Having hired veterans in my other businesses, I understand the significant skills that servicemen and women bring to the civilian workplace. I look forward to participating in this program and working with ESGR staff to better understand the unique requirements of these outstanding individuals.”
ESGR was established in 1972 to promote cooperation and understanding between Reserve Component Service members and their civilian employers. Together with Headquarters ESGR staff and a small cadre of support staff for each State Committee, volunteers work to promote and enhance employer support for military service in the Guard and Reserve. ESGR fosters a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States. These citizen warriors could not defend and protect at home and abroad without the continued promise of meaningful civilian employment for themselves and their families.
