BELMONT — October was a winning month for the Lakes Media NH Radio Stations, 104.9 The Hawk, Lakes FM 101.5, Mountain Country NH 96.1/97.1 and WASR.
New Hampshire Business Review Magazine recognized Lakes Media and owner Dirk Nadon with the Best in Professional Service for Small Business in NH.
Lakes Media was also recognized by the New Hampshire Association of Broadcasters at its Annual Granite Mic Awards. Lakes FM 101.5 won three awards: For its Lakes Region Community Forum focusing on homelessness, a first place award for feature story with the Good News Story of the Day and first place radio personality of the year was awarded to Lakes FM’s Heather Bishop.
Mountain Country NH 96.1’s Mark Ericson won the first place for morning show newscast on his Mountain Country Mornings Show.
104.9 The Hawk, WLKZ won the merit award for radio station of the year.
Nadon was also given the Warren Bailey Community Champion Award. Warren Bailey, long time radio personality and founder of the Lakes Region Children’s Auction, recently passed away after a lengthy series of health challenges.
Nadon said, “Warren and I knew each other for a long time, we worked off and on together since the ‘80s, so…this one is for you Warren. I’d rather give awards, than get them.”
