LACONIA — Local barber Dan Barbary has welcomed back fellow barber Matt Wilson to Barbary's Barber Shop, located in downtown Laconia.
After some time pursuing other career options, Wilson decided to come back to the shop where his career as a barber started.
"It was because of Barbary's that I even thought to become a barber," said Wilson. "I would come to get my haircut and thought that this was something I could see myself enjoying."
Inspired by the Barbary's success as a barber in the downtown area for 23 years, Wilson applied to Empire Beauty School, where he achieved his license in cosmetology. After a few years working as a hair stylist, Wilson decided to go back to school to receive his Master Barber license.
As a licensed barber, Wilson began working at Barbary's, where he stayed for four consecutive years. After leaving for a short time, Wilson rejoined the team five weeks ago, and has no plans of pursuing his practice anywhere else.
"Matt is a hard worker and skilled at what he does," said Barbary, "I am happy to have him back working at the shop."
Barbary's Barber Shop is located next to the Village Bakery in downtown Laconia. The shop accepts walk-ins. Hours of operation are Tuesday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
