Fall is still a fantastic time to sell property and is a busy time here in the Lakes Region. It’s already September and the leaves are beginning to change. 3.6 million tourists visit NH in the fall season to see the fascinating change of scenery… Of course, beautiful New England has all four seasons and with every one, a different feel and a different tone sets the hearts of us locals.

We get excited for fall because of the fun activities like apple picking, hay rides, wearing flannels, getting in the last few days boating on the lakes and local fairs like the famous Sandwich Fair or the Hopkinton Fair to name a couple.

After Labor Day weekend everyone is getting into gear to pull their warmer clothes out of storage and put away the shorts and tank tops. Switching from iced coffee to hot coffee and hunting down the locations that have pumpkin swirl. Away with the water trampolines! Boats and jet skis are being shrink wrapped and saying goodbye to the water just until ice out next year.

Homeowners are getting a moment to make a decision on whether to put their homes up for sale to take advantage of the many visitors that will be coming up each weekend from all over the world who may also be looking to move to the Granite State or have a second or third home to come to here. Homes are always selling no matter the weather. When exploring New Hampshire’s windy roads, you may come across a big moose, a fox or an open house.

The sold listings in Q3 and Q4 don’t compare to the other quarters. In the past three years, a spike in home sales in Q3 (July, August, September) is competitive with Q4 (October, November, December). The numbers don’t lie.
