To The Daily Sun,
This election will be a referendum on the confirmation process of Justice Kavanaugh, the caravan, law and order and common sense. We have the clearest illustration of the behavioral differences, the differences in values and principles between the parties, and the results of the parties’ policies that has been available in a long while. Shouldn't we compare results, not rhetoric?
Here are some results from the last two years for your consideration: We have added more than four million jobs to the economy. Full-time work, not part-time seasonal statistic manipulators. Wages are rising and that means real wages, spending money in the pocket, not just inflation dollars. Blue collar wages in particular are growing fastest. Unemployment in all demographics is the lowest it has been since 1969.
Taxes are down. Regulation is down. The economy and portfolios have grown. More importantly an analysis in The Wall Street Journal predicts economic growth is likely to continue "for years." NAFTA has been renegotiated updating trade deals with Mexico and Canada that will produce benefits for American manufacturers and workers. Consumer confidence reached an 18-year high in September.
On the security front there has been an 83 percent one-year increase in arrests of MS-13 gang members. The border is more secure than it has been in decades. Two justices have been confirmed to the Supreme Court. Eighty-two other federal judges have been confirmed to lower federal courts.
Pastor Andrew Brunson has been released from a Turkish prison through negotiation. North Korea is negotiating for Korean reunification and denuclearization. We have a more realistic foreign policy in confronting America's enemies. We have no new wars.
At the state level, Manchester is becoming the center of the Advanced Regenerative Medicine Industry. Revenues are above projections. Taxes are down. We are making progress on the red list bridges. DCYF is being addressed. Efforts to address the opioid crisis are taking hold and results are turning.
There is a plan in place. It is a controlled, coordinated effort to implement a vision that is making things better at home and abroad. And it is working.
What Democratic policies produced better results than these? Sanctuary cities? Free stuff? More government control? Why would voters elect candidates who want to return to the failed policies of the past by voting for Democrats in the upcoming elections? Do we want to return to the vote buying that is promising free stuff for everyone while not actually creating a better present or future? Do people who didn't have jobs during the previous administration want to embrace policies that kept them unemployed? Do businesses once prevented from growing and prospering because of regulations now wish to have regulations re-imposed and to lay off workers they recently hired? Do we need to get rid of the First Amendment in favor of hate speech laws? Do we really want to get rid of the Second Amendment in favor of what? Less self defense and increased police presence and increased prison populations.
Are you better off than you were two years ago? Are we going to continue to follow a positive vision producing measurable results? To do that, each of us, you and I have to get out and vote. We have to go to the polls and once we get there we have to support the party that made things better. Your future is based on freedom not on "free stuff."
