To The Daily Sun,

Belknap County voters can have a big influence on our clean energy future.

The New York Times just reported:

“Dozens of conservative groups organized by the Heritage Foundation have created a policy playbook, should a Republican win the 2024 presidential election, that would reverse course on lowering emissions. It would shred regulations designed to curb greenhouse gases, dismantle nearly every federal clean energy program and boost the production of fossil fuels.”

Our elected officials are in office to represent their constituents, not the extreme views of fossil fuel-funded lobbyists. Right now, constituents like us are hurting from our already-changing climate. We can’t risk backsliding on climate change.

If you care about the climate for yourself, your children and grandchildren, the choice is simple; spread the word and in 2024 elect local, state and national level politicians who value our planet and vote out those likely to follow the Heritage Foundation’s filthy air playbook.
