To The Daily Sun,

Dear Gold Star Mother 25:

I was shopping at Shaws in Gilford on December 5 and was at the cashier. I was getting to pay for my groceries and the cashier said no. That the lady behind you is paying for your order! I was shocked.

I said it is okay, I can pay. She said no that she does this in honor of her son who was killed in Iraq! And that he's buried at the cemetery across the street. I started to cry. I said that it hits home and I want to give her a hug.

So, we hugged and I told her that my son was in Iraq, too, for a year and he's a firefighter/AEMT. I was still in shocked. I saw her get into her vehicle and her license plate said Gold Star Mother 25!

I just want to thank you so much and you have given a new perspective that there is still good people in the world. I promised her I will pay it forward. I put money in the Salvation Army kettle after.

To who you are Gold Star Mom 25, I wish you a blessed Christmas and know you Son was honored on everyday for your kindness!
