To The Daily Sun,

This is in response to the letter on HB 649 terminating vehicle inspections. Maybe there should be an end of inspection on vehicles under a certain age, say 10 years old. Outside of a cracked windshield or defective lights, what could be wrong? But after 10 years of New Hampshire road salt, it begins to take its toll. Fiberglass bodies can make vehicles look brand new, but what lurks down in the undercarriage may shock you. Jagged edges on fender wells are a danger in parking lots, if someone gets cut they may need a tetanus shot. I have a 2006 Silverado that failed inspection in 2019, due to excessive rot. I still use it to plow my driveway only, I'm expecting the rear axle to separate from the frame any day now. I also believe that if a vehicle failed to get inspected in say 2024, it should not be allowed to be registered in 2025, unless a passed vehicle report is submitted. The important thing here is public safety.
