To The Daily Sun,
Six years ago I needed a license renewal, and decided to get the real ID. So I looked up what was needed. 1. Proof of identity: [U.S. birth certificate, U.S. passport, green card]; 2. Social Security number [SS card, W-2 Form, pay stub]; 3. Proof of residency [Deed, mortgage, lease, utility bill]. I showed up to the DMV and left with a real ID. One year later it was my wife's turn. We showed up with the documents, but were denied due to the birth certificate being from the hospital where she was born. We were told it must be from the City Gall with a raised seal. We left with a regular license. Five years later she needed a renewal again. We showed up with the correct birth certificate, but were denied again due to the birth certificate having her maiden name, a marriage certificate with the raised seal would be needed, to make the connection. So once again we left with a regular license, Maybe next time we will get it right.
