Steve Earle: Will the country ever be undivided again?

The more distorted logic I read and hear from the left the more I fear we can become a civil undivided country again. I don't expect we will agree on everything but is it any help when the left unleashes violent mobs to assault and harass political opponents? Must they resort to trashing civilized concepts like "innocent until proven guilty" over political expediency? When did name calling, smears and slanders take the place of reasoned, logical ideas? That's the current content of the left's tactics and ideology. Their offerings to citizens this election is more hatred, more taxes and regulations with the underlying message of, do it our way or our mobs will beat you up. The fact is the left is out of control, their political leaders are advocating for these things but when it results in someone getting killed, which is not unlikely, will they assume any responsibility? Answer is no, it will all be someone else's fault like that invisible "white privilege".

James Veverka has a letter in Friday's paper critical of President Donald Trump for the rising national debt. This is laughable considering when was the last time any democratic leftist was ever concerned about that? Barack Obama created over nine trillion additional debt, more then every other president before him combined, and it did nothing to help the vast majority of the American people. Compare that with our current economy. Abundant jobs, rising wages, low unemployment, low taxes and people's confidence for the future high. I'll take that any time.

Bruce Jenket had another great letter on Friday. Typically Bruce used reason, logic and sound research to validate his writings. He's right, it's indisputable that mainstream media is not only left leaning but withholds stories and news that is not favorable to the left. In fact many on the left conspired with rogue FBI and Justice Dept. employees to cover up for Hillary Clinton's crimes and lies then tried to frame Trump for a false "Russian collusion" charge. That backfired and turns out it was Hillary and company colluding with the Russians. That came out no thanks to MSM.

I'm sure readers have heard there is another caravan of illegals heading for our southern boarder. Leftist former legislator, Bartolo Fuentes, organizer in chief has been arrested in Honduras pending extradition. Just what we need another 2,000 illegals to flood our overworked and strained social networks. And just in time for our elections. What a coincidence! Wonder who's paying for this caravan? George Soros comes to my mind. He's behind most of these leftists schemes and groups dedicated as he is to destroying the U.S. Just my guess but don't bet against it folks.

Remember you have a choice in November between mob rule and law and order. Consider the consequences of the former and vote Republican. We can't trust any Democrat to look out for We the People. They will march lock step with the leftist party leaders right down the road to a Marxist government.
