To The Daily Sun,
As a mother of three school-age children, I know firsthand how expensive back-to-school season can be. Between new clothes, supplies, and activity fees, every dollar counts. One way our family has managed to stretch our budget is by using our credit card rewards we accumulated earlier in the year to cover most of these costs.
It was recently brought to my attention that Congress is considering a bill called the credit card competition act that could take that away. By forcing changes to our current payment system, this bill could make transactions less safe and cut or even eliminate rewards programs that pretty much everyone I know uses.
I don’t know why there isn’t more coverage of this but I hope our senators and members of Congress are paying attention and vote against this and any other bill like it.
