To The Daily Sun,

Residents of Gilmanton, I am excited to announce my candidacy for the Gilmanton School Board.

My family and I have been part of the Gilmanton community since 2011, and I am a parent of a child who attends the Gilmanton School. Although I was not born and raised in Gilmanton, I am invested in, and value this community. I am a strong advocate for community service, and I have served as both a volunteer and board member for organizations and committees in town.

The solid education we offer here in our district needs to continue to move forward to meet the needs for all types of learners. I strongly feel that our role as a community is to advocate for our student’s education, stand by the staff who work tirelessly to provide it, and support those who have chosen our town to raise their families in.

As the education landscape continues to change, I very much understand the difficulties our community is facing and believe we can find a balance. I want to contribute to finding a common ground that we all benefit from that fosters tomorrow’s leaders while also supporting an education that meets their individual needs.

Over the past several years, I have attended many Gilmanton School Board meetings. I have watched and listened and understand the roles and responsibilities of our school board as a whole, its duty to support the school entity, and its role within our community.

My commitment to education and understanding the needs of the Gilmanton community will help me be a productive member of the school board. It would be a privilege and an honor to receive readers' vote on election day.
