To The Daily Sun,

Once (2013), during the Obama administration, an IRS department head named Lois Lerner was called to Congress to testify about the apparent difference in the treatment by her department of conservative and liberal groups seeking tax-exempt status. She stated that perhaps mistakes were made. When asked to produce documents pertaining to said applications, she stated that the hard drives had failed. What about the legally required back-up drives? Oops, they failed, too. Lois Lerner was never held to account.

Another time (2016), a Democratic Secretary of State named Hillary Clinton was found to have used a private computer server and personal computers to conduct government business. Tens of thousands of emails were seemingly lost, eliminating the possibility of supporting or refuting her claim that she didn’t send or receive any classified material. When asked about a forensic examination of that drive, it had been wiped clean (and not, like, with a cloth). Then-FBI Director James Comey, spoke for 45 minutes outlining the crimes that were indicated by Ms. Clinton’s actions—closing with his opinion that she shouldn’t be charged. Also, for these federal crimes, intent is not an element. Oh, well.

Recently (2019) a judge named Brett Kavanaugh was nominated to be a Supreme Court Justice. Ignoring the reason, there was, in fact, a protest in Washington, D.C. Hundreds of those protesters broke through the barriers at the Capitol and the Supreme Court to voice the opposition to the nomination. Would you care to guess how many “trespassers” were charged with violating 18 U.S.C. § 1752? [Cue Jeopardy theme.] How many is zero?

It looked like another example of the left’s double standards with Gov. Andrew Cuomo. New York Attorney General Letitia James issued a 165 page report outlining the cases of sexual assault that Gov. Cuomo was alleged to have committed. In closing [drum roll], she said that her office’s responsibilities ended there. Much to many people’s surprise, Mr. Cuomo has chosen to resign (in two weeks, for some unknown reason). The soon-to-be former governor will not be held to account for his COVID policy of sending ill people back to nursing homes to die and then muddling the statistics.

Some quick points.

I could support E. Scott Cracraft’s (Aug. 3) wishes if he also supported the arrest and prosecution of the antifa and BLM protesters from their riots. I am, however, impressed at his assessment from afar of the mind set of the Jan. 6 protesters. Wow!

Is Ruth Stewart (Aug. 6) also opposed to the “settlers” in what is now called Jordan? After all, per the 1920 Mandate, that land was part of “Palestine.”

Is Ruth Chong (Aug. 7) also interested in who is funding left wing letter writers such as herself, Ruth Larson, James Vervaka, et al? Maybe we just have differing opinions.

I’m at a loss to fairly respond to Bill Hemmel (Aug. 10). He thinks that unarmed “trespassers” are the same as foreign troops that burned Washington. I think that few people actually agree.

The common excuse you'll get from all of these hateful people will be " yeah but what about Trump?"

good letter as always. Nice to see some of these folks with the idiotic leftist banter get their arguments dissected so easily and powerfully
