To The Daily Sun,

I want to send out a big thank you to every Laconian who voted for me during Tuesday's Primary Election and a thanks to everyone who didn't, because our civic duties mean more to me than political success.

Over the next handful of weeks I as a candidate will be following the legislative bill requests going in on both sides, identifying those I will be supporting.

I will be participating in the Oct. 10 nonpartisan candidate forum at the Belknap Mill.

I will be out and about holding my big red sign waving to folks as they drive by.

What I won't be doing is attacking fellow candidates in either party.

I was hoping the Donald Trump/Kamala Harris presidential debate would be filled with facts and solutions, instead it was sophomoric on both sides with plenty of lies, half truths and talking points galore.

That's not how I want to represent the people of Laconia even if we have disagreements on the best way to move forward.

We can't move forward if every opinion is demonized.

We can't move forward if we are afraid to have the tough conversations.

We can't move forward as a civil society without openness and full transparency.

If you have any questions, concerns or opinions you would like to share with me before the Oct. 10 candidate forum please email me at littlefield.vivek2024@gmail.com.

Most importantly of all, if you're going to be working or out of town on Election Day, get an absentee ballot and send it in so your voice will be heard.

As always, stay safe, happy and healthy.

Vote Littlefield on Nov. 5.

Richard Littlefield
