To The Daily Sun,
By the time this letter is read I'm hoping that the Minnesota House Democratic caucus will have finally ended their boycott for not only their constituents but the state of Minnesota.
Why are they boycotting the work of the people readers may be asking?
They are refusing to show up until March so they won't have to operate in a one-seat minority, yes, a one-seat minority.
This is a disgrace for me as a former state representative right here in Laconia.
I want to thank New Hampshire House Democrats for going to work for their constituents even though they have been in the minority for the last six years.
It takes a lot of guts to show up knowing that their party's agenda isn't going to pass.
The Minnesota secretary of state isn't helping things by allowing Gov. Tim Walz and his caucus to stop all legislative work for a whole other month while a special election is set up.
Nothing can be done, especially the investigation into more than a half-billion dollars in fraud uncovered by the Republican Party.
Why wouldn't the governor and his party want a half-billion in fraud and those behind it prosecuted to the greatest extent of the law?
Minnesotans have the very same issues as Granite Staters. High taxes, a decline in academic success, and hospitals and other health care options that need help to sustain overwhelming amounts of sickness and other stresses.
There's absolutely no good reason why Minnesotans have to deal with such immature lawmakers in what I can only call a big baby tantrum.
Minnesotans deserve a legislature at work.
For me, I would never boycott my job as a representative whether in the majority or not.
