To The Daily Sun,

My husband and I have just spent a glorious long weekend here in the Winnipesaukee Lake region. We were drawn to riding bikes by the WOW website, with the WOW rail-trails, including its spectacular new section to Belmont. We stopped to explore Laconia with its vibrant shops, artwork, history, and architecture. That its residents, young and old, greeted us and one another as they walked the trails speaks highly of the sense of community this area offers.

Good for you, Laconia; you have captured what other communities, caught up in the challenges of revival, have yet to establish. No doubt, your WOW bike and trail coalition had much to do with nurturing this vital sense of connectivity.

We also rode the Winni Scenic Trail and the Cotton Valley Trail, sampled locally grown foods at your great eateries, Patrick's Pub being a favorite, and started our Christmas shopping at a craft fair that featured a talented array of N.H. crafters. With so many beautiful spots we have yet to explore, we booked our winter stay here in the Laconia area. We look forward to skiing at Gunstock and exploring the lake's winter beauty along the WOW trails.

Thanks for a great experience in this gem of an area, where the lake meets the mountains, and people come first.
